We are a non profit membership organization who’s mission is to promote the pleasure, fellowship and sportsmanship of fly fishing and it’s related activities. We endeavor to provide a recreational and educational forum for fly fishing ideas and techniques as well as to promote conservation, preservation and enhancement of fly fishing resources.

In order to fulfill our mission we are hosting the 2011 Fly Fishing Conclave & Banquet, May 27th & 28th 2011 at the Lethbridge College Barn.
Proceeds from this years event will be going to children & youth outdoor education projects including Fish in Schools

Friday May 27th 2011
We are very excited to be presenting the 2011 Drake Magazine Film Tour .
-doors open at 6pm, (cash bar)
-various games (hootchie toss), static displays and socializing

Saturday May 28th 2011

Conclave

-doors open at 9am
-coffee and snacks provided
-informative presentations on fly fishing activities such as rod building, tube flies, pike flies, single hand and Spey casting, and much more.

Banquet

-cocktail at 6pm (cash bar)
-buffet style supper at 7pm
-auction, raffles and more socialization

$50 get you access to all events

CWFFC Fly Tying Contest

In conjunction with our Conclave/Banquet on May 27 & 28 we are having a fly tying contest to create some friendly competition, but more importantly, to help raise funds for local youth groups that raise fish in schools. We urge everyone to participate regardless of how you feel about the flies you create. All flies submitted will be auctioned with the proceeds going to the event. so not only will you be showing off you talents but making a valuable donation. We ask that you submit the flies prior to May 27 so we can display them at the conclave and attendees can vote for their favorites but we will accept them right up to the night of the banquet. Winners will determined by votes cast at the conclave and banquet. The prizes and number of prizes will be determined by the number of entries as well as donations into the prize pool. Contest entry is free.



-You must submit a minimum of 12 flies and can submit more than 12 if you like
-You may enter as many times as you wish
-When you enter please specify which category you are entering Dry, Nymph, Streamer, Realistic
-It is suggested that you enter them in a fly box (easier to auction) but loose flies will also be accepted. Remember we are trying to raise funds so the more enticing you make them the more they will fetch
-Flies will be displayed over the weekend anonymously (with a number and no name) and ballots will be provided on both Friday and Saturday night so all attendees can vote for their favorite choices
-Flies will then be auctioned or raffled off with all proceeds going to the event

Get your tickets for the banquet by Tuesday May 24th they will not be available at the door as we need to give the caterer numbers so no one goes hungry. It's the best catered meal in town guaranteed!!
