depends, dont know if sauer lake is re stocked yet or chicacoo lake, i would recon any of them two, cardiff lake is really good as well, there is a dock there you can fish off, but no ones been getting any bites at both, so your best bet would be star lake, fishing from shore and you can catch a nice trout around the 20 inch range :)

I've always thought East Pit (just north of wabamun) is the best lake for shore fishing. You can access the whole lake and nothing to get tangled with.

Doc has an excellent site with locations to all the local trout lakes here.

If you're a novice fisherman, to to The Fishin Hole and get a container of trout worms, a bobber and some hooks. Can't go wrong. Small spinners might work as well. No need to make fishing complicated.

See ya

remember east pit is a little walk down the hill and back up, but it is an awsome lake, spent many hours on that lake, not many trees around that lake, dont think it will winterkill its a big long lake compared to other pothole lakes around edmonton, if you dont wanna fly fish and wanna use power eggs use pink works great with a sliding weight very small single egg hook gamagatsu hooks size 20 work wonders, pinch the barbs leader should be 18 inches, goodluck ;)
