Smoke Lake

Headed out to Smoke Lake this weekend, just wondering if there is ice out that way or not. Going to try the river mouth on the south side with the fly rod. Anybody try out that way before?

Not sure about ice but do you realize there is a 3000 hectare fire out of control quite close to the lake right now?

The 3000ha fire is in pass creek heading away from smoke. the fires around smoke are under control, was out there yesterday for a look and there's still a bit of ice floating around. I like to fish the area your talking about, will be there on the weekend.

Yeah, the fire situation is pretty nasty, but rain for thursday....hopefully.
If you happen to see a guy untangling fly line on the southside there, feel free to say hi.

Sure hope it's under control out there, off to isogen lake Friday across the road. Brookies and grayling in some beautiful hotspots around there
