went down to the NSR today, was unreal fishing, first cast got bit off by a pike, second cast caught a walleye 19 inches, then caught a 27inch pike all beat up missing a gill plate as well half of a tail gone, then caught a 26 inch pike same thing all beat up, caught some more walleyes, had a monster pike follow in at least 15 pounds, then took another cast right after got bit off again, this was at whitemud creek meets NSR, awsome day only 2 other people there, but they didnt catch anything, even after i was trying to help them :( but they were awsome met some great people tonight, i hope everyone can get out there before whitemud dries up more where it is hard to fish there, have fun.:sHa_shakeshout:

I'm glad you had a great day. I was at the end of Twp 540 before 9 this morning and fished til 1 with only a small walleye to show for the efforts... but an absolutely gorgeous day enjoying the sunshine and a wicked awesome pass time.

Aww dont be such a wet blanket. People like pics. They just dont like critisizim of their own post em up. The rest of the haters are just lameos it happens. Tje important thing to remember is that sometimes the best practice cant be practiced so cut some slack and people generally return the favor i personally enjoy yer pics ya obviously have a handle on tje river maybe ill run into u some time

fox drive off of whitemud drive, there is a place to park, just after you go over the whitemud creek bridge on your left.

I think what is happening is that I am having no luck because i am going to get a monster walleye this year. lol ya right. maybe if you add them all together. the river is really giving it to me dry this year. lol

:angry3:I bought 6 black jig some other fancy jigs that I did catch one walleye on. green jigs switched to p rig for a while got one eye. tossed out some spoons had 2 bites but couldnt set the hook. I had a big pike follow and take the spoon and leader in one bite. But of course he never came back for seconds. lol. I bought a 7 foot rod and I think that is why I am loosing so many, I am not used to the extra length.

thats awsome, they are there, for the most part all i use is black jiggs, yea some huge pike in the nsr latly as well, 7 foot rod is perfect once you get used to it, cant wait to fix the fly reel then fly fish for the walleye, what a blast, tony you think the main run off happened yet?

On the 17th before the rain I was at goldbar and nailed 2 saugs 1 walleye all in the 3lb range, walleye was on the smaller side :P Buddy got a pretty massive saug a walleye and a teeny pike that looked pretty healthy compared to whats normal from this river..
If anyone stops by goldbar I'll probably be there just chillen out:fishing:
come stop by its pretty hot right now yesterday[the 18th] I went back but got skunked but buddy got 3 small walleye way out in the foam line
we could only fish for about an hour or so each time because of time constraints so what we got is pretty impressive considering how many fish I usually catch:sign0176:

BGSH
05-19-2011, 03:51 PM
fuk put two up by accident sorry, but as you can see the water is still very high, and the pike is very long but very skinny, give it a try though, water is clear about 5-10 inches below the surface.
