Family members want to go to the cow lake campground this summer.
Is there any good fishing close to the campground, off the dock etc.
I do not have a boat, so shore fishing only. Also what are good lures/bait?

I justed looked at the regulations and size limit is 100cm for pike. I dought I would catch that from shore. Perch is the only other thing. What are good baits, hooks, lures, rig etc. to use for them. Thanks

I have never been to cow lake but was thinking of heading up there on Sunday. 100cms isnt as big as you think and you could catch that from shore for sure. I have seen some massive pike in some very shallow water while spear fishing back in the day. Fishing for perch all you need is a small hook and bait(people like stuff like cheese and bread or worms) with a bobber. Bring a bunch of stuff with you and see what happens if your not catching perch change to a spoon or vise versa.

you can jig right off the dok for them. and use small gold hook plain of with a chunk or worm.
i hrd that lake isnt doing to well anymore for numbers as much as it usedto be. slower fishing but still good. we limited out realy quick (15) andkeep on catching and realsing after they were good little perch. keep any perch youy can catch though and MABE once there all gone we can put it back to a trout fishry.

Most of Cow Lake is surrounded by bog, very difficult to fish from shore. There is a boat dock at the day use site and the campground but boy are they busy spots so your always moving out of the way of boats launching and returning. Hope this helps.
