So... yesterday evening my old man and I got to try our freshly bought fishing rig out at Wabamun. Our rig is a 1981 double eagle 22ft double eagle bought used. The rig pounded over the starting to white cap waves as if there were no waves there in the first place.:sHa_shakeshout:
The 260 Hp rummbling V8 inboard also had no problem propelling the boat forward!:sHa_shakeshout:

The only two noticable suprises were a small coolent leak and a weak trim tab that would self adjust.

Heres some pics of the rig.

Thanks for the comments guys.:)

As for fuel ecomonmy, that boat almost drank a quater tank of fuel in 30Kms of driving at cruising RPM!...lol

I have heard from many people too that the double eagles are built very solid and there was even this story of this guy who was fishing near Prince Rupert that hit this massive floating log in their double eagle 22ft. What happened was as soon as the boat hit the log, every loose item in the boat went flying 4ft and the guys were running to get the life raft ready. They look down to see the log split in half with not a even a mark on the boat hull!

Thanks Dace.:) I haven't tried the boat on Isle because the boat launch isn't steep enough...lol

I plan on using the rig at Vicoria BC this summer on the ocean, and on some of the large lakes such as Lesser Slave, Cold Lake and Wabamun again.

Thanks Dustin:)
