This was one of those years for the May long fishing, seriously fantastic.
Friday about 27c but real comfortable on the lake and dead calm witch is really odd for Dore(sk). and the water was up a little even from lastyear.

So first up was Moose bay and as it durned out the only spot we needed, this is classic early spring water a shallow dark bottomed bay 1.5 to about 4 feet. and as we pull into the bay we ca see white fish crusing in the shallows next year I make sure the flyrod is along and give catching them a try.

As we pull in there is fish every where mostly smallish males 24-25" but a couple fish of note

The big one

The one that thought it was bigger that it actually was

After a while the wind started to pick up and I got spooked because the last thing I wanted to was lanch in the waves with no dock(it was going in the next day) so we head home. And about halfway home we run out of gas, Skunkboy needs to learn the difference between is full and feels full

Here is Skunk and his cousin the dinger in the background is the nice guys who towed us home after we were paddling for a while.

Both days we easily caught over 50 fish. Sunday we did not get going in time and a cold front went through and the wind really picked up so alll we managed was some dock fishing and even then we caught a couple there too.

/sigh the next time we go is in July.
