Nice Day at Beauvais Lake

I was down at Beauvais today and had a pretty good day. The little stocked rainbows were rising at times, and I also saw a couple of good sized fish rise.

I was mostly fishing leaches though, and caught 2 brown trout in consecutive casts, a first for me at that lake. They weren't too big, but quite a bit bigger than the rainbows I caught.

Also saw a dead deer floating in the water... not too much left of it.

All I can say is that it was my first time out this year, and even though the fish weren't biting like crazy, it was nice to catch a few! :)

I caught them on a medium sink line in about 10' of water on purple leaches. They weren't too big, but a nice surprise just the same. I didn't take any throat samples though.
