Correct anchor size....??

Just curious about correct anchor size for a 16ft princecraft boat, its about 1,000lbs dry with a mercury optimax 75hp.

Just wondering about best anchor style and weight as well as rope diameter.

Long time ago, I was told 1 lb of anchor per foot of boat.

Plus a couple of feet of chain. As long as you leave enough rope out a 16lber should be good.
