Me and the boy are heading out on saturday or sunday to do some fishing but i can't decide whether to go to pigeon or wabamum.went to pigeon on opening day and it was really slow so it wasn't even worth the gas for the boat or truck.haven't been to wab since the ice came off.any info on how these lakes are are doing?need to make a decision!:thinking-006:

Your best bet is to bring alot of different tackle and some bait if all else fails. spoons ive got em on the yellow and red fod and red n white cdn flag work spinners gold bells and several different musky bucks both in the big trailer.buck tails amd the smaller versions, bucktail jigs i fou.d orange and blue n white worked for me. i havent used many raps in wabamun but storm wildeyes work ive used walleyes and pike in the storms. My goto bait is herring but smelt work great too i use both depending on whats available

Go to Lac La nonne , Best of both worlds , hoggy Pike and some big pig walleyes in there . Hell there maybe even under subscribed tags for Lac La nonne for Walleye .

I go ice fishing at LacNonne but last time I tried putting in a boat
in there..... the mud hole launch at the end of RR30 was so bad
that we went home. Are you using the launch over by Birch Cove
or is there another one that I am unaware of.
Would appreciate the tip . I like the lake but its hard to get
on without a decent launch ...

Quantity - go to pigeon provincial park - you'll catch more walleye then you can count.

Quality - to to Wabamun and you'll catch big pike if you find them, and lots of little ones while you hunt for the big ones.

my $0.02.

See ya

I concur with "Ace".

3 of us out on Wab yesterday and caught 50 plus; largest 10 lbs with lots in 2-3lb range. Haven't been to Pigeon yet but first trip there last year was incredible. Couldn't keep them off the hook mid to late afternoon.
