Hey all!
Kinda weird question I know but I want to hit pinehurst and fill my tags and was considering using my float tube. Is it generally rough and windy along the launch side or is there wind breaks and points etc? Some lakes like calling for example are tough to do with small crafts due to wind.... Thanks for any input! Cheers, gw

That Lake can be nasty even at the boat launch. Cross wind many times tossed my boat around when loading.

Thanks man
That's sucky
Long way to drive to not be able to get out
I've done calling in the tube a bunch of times and can only launch about half the time on that lake
Wind and float tubes are a bad mix
Cheers, gw

There's a point of to the left of the launch. Its not far and we always caught walleye there. We would also night fish there because it was so close to the campground. Its been a few years since I have been there but its something to look at when you get there. As for the wind, I have had fun crossing that lake a few times in a 12 ft alum with a 9.9. Been stranded in the far bay years ago while the lake was full of swells. We made a run for it right at dusk when the lake finnally calmed down.
