nice fish,

pike was so skinny but was 26 inches long, awsome fight on the fly though, on the 4 wt caught 6 pike and 2 walleye, no goldeye or suckers, and was using the smallest black fly ever, lost around 5 pike as well

I have never tried fishing walleye on the fly, but it seems like it would be an awesome challenge. I will have to give it a try one of these evenings on the river.

Very nice! I think I might have to take you up your offer to meet up on the river. I think I tie a leech pattern that would work quite nicely for some walleyes......love to test them out.

If black leech patterns aren't working... try a white one.. that's one of my ultimate Walleye patterns.. doesn't matter what type of fly but if it's pure white they love it.

yea its very very muddy, no leader, but lots of bites and lost a few good size ones, a little to much fun on the 4wt though:fighting0074:

I like the black leech pattern as well, but kinda surprised they were going for the small size in the murky water. I busted out my fly rod for Beumont the other day to shake off the dust. Time to try the river again. Very encouraging. Nice catch!
