1/8 jig head with powerbait or corn. Works everytime.

I have heard that trout cannot digest corn, so their "guts" get plugged up with it if they are stealing bait and injestinhg much of it. I do not know if this is fact but I have stopped using corn because of it.

Worm sure works good. After all I believe that is the reason GOD made worms, for fishing. I usually remove the skin and fat from chicken before cooking. I cut little strips of chicken skin with fat on it if possible and use it for bait for all types of fishing and fish. It stays on a hook really well and I belive it has a scent or flavor tha most fish like.

Antler Man you should have stuck around and caught some Whites and Pike with me. Got a 14.5 pounder at Gull today and iced 3 other smaller ones. Had one line break prior to the big one i got. It had some meat to it i could tell right away.

When using shrimp for trout, do you use cooked or uncooked?

The shrimp on those black rings you can buy is what we use but I am sure the uncooked stuff works well too.

Welcome to AO where ya from?

The shrimp on those black rings you can buy

X2 - Usually buy a couple at the start of the season and then freeze them in baggies that would be suitable for a day on the ice.

Yep - just a small chunk to tip the hook when necessary
