Hi all. I am in Slave Lake for a bit fixing powerlines and would like to fish in the evenings. Wasn't able to bring a boat so am looking for spots to shorefish. I'm not looking for honeyholes but don't have a lot of time after work to go places and not be able to fish. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Looking to chuck gear at walleye/pike/perch or throw flies at trout. Thank you in advance.

When you are coming into Slave Lake from Edmonton just as you enter Slave Lake, take the Highway going North to Red Earth: When you cross the first river, take the road to Norms Walleye camp. You will see people fishing accross the river. This an ideal place for shore fishing.

Just before the same same bridge, there is a Home Hardware lumber yard: Take the road just infront of the Home Hardware store keep going until end of road going west. Just as you can see the lake. (you will see a bunch of Atco trailers) just to the right going west you will see people fishing. Great place. Best fishing results when a boat passes, the boats scare the fish close to shore.

A few minutes drive to Canyon Creek (west) enter Canyon Creek, drive to the boat launch. There is a road that on the other side of the boat launch.
Great place!

Good luck. Make sure to follow the rules as the wardens check these areas.
