What is your favorite walleye lure/crank? Mine is anything in firetiger or perch pattern.

Rapala, deep runner, holographic, which they quit making as the paint wouldn't stay on. I still have a couple in purdy good shape tho.

Tough to beat a Bright colored jig head with Minnow or Leech , under a slip bobber , or just jigging . Both work , Bobber is the lazy mans way of doing it .

My number one go to walleye hook would have to be a 1/4 or 1/8 ounce Lindy max gap jig in the white and chartreuse color.

For a crank it depends on my depth. Tail dancers and DT work good.

My go to is a 1/4oz jighead (plain round) and a 4" white single tail jig. Caught over 100 walleye this spring on it in only 3 trips out

1/2oz cc chartreuse perch wally diver. i rarely throw hardware at eyes, but this one always has produced rivers or lakes.

I really like XRAP Tiger pattern in the 8`diving depth for early summer walleye. Works like a charm.

Thanks, I'll have a look at those. I find fishing a deep diver so that its hitting the bottom can work realy well for walleye. With plastic lips if you do too much of this you can wreck the lure's action.

I'm not sure if bobbering is lazy at all,, IMO it's a finesse type of fishing and requires a certain touch and patience/know how.

In reply to the question; as soon as I catch a Walleye on a lure, that lure is retired and gifted. Two years ago, at McGreg, I couldn't stop catching Walleye, in fact, everybody around me were catching Pike and Lake Whites, but not me,, so I changed spots and same thing, and I even caught a burb on a Len Thompson 5 0'Diamonds. Just don't care much for the eye's. If I know you from PM's I'll gladly send you the spot.

the fishing forums are funny,,, people ask for every tid bit of how/where/when/how-far/how-deep/etc and then I offer up a Walleye spot (C&R) but pleniful and of a larger sort than PCR (a great 60's band for those of you who don't what the acronym stands for) and not a nibble. Though, I didn't offer it to the mainboard.

we haven't yakked in pm? I'm sure we have, do you want the spot?

and to chub,,, it's strange that people ask for so much info then don't take a chance on pm'ing anyways. The PCR bit was about people asking what PCR stands for so I thought I'd be funny,, CCR/PCR

I probably should'nt share this but a purple twister on a 1/4 oz. head works so good they're thinking about outlawing them.

Can't beat the jig and minnow/leech, but in the dog days of summer my go to is always a blue and silver Rat'l Trap.

On the river I use a 3/8 or 1/4 oz jighead, white or chatruse with chartruse tail. sometimes I throw a minnow on it. Pickerel rigs work well too where I fish.

i completely agree and you can tune a metal lip so the lure has a kick.

What are those two on the top? The one second from the top in particular looks pretty sexy. As well where are you finding Hellbenders?
