I was just talking to a oilfield operator and the Brazeau Dam has opened the flood gates for the first time since 1986. He said the river could rise 4-6 meters. Be Aware:sign0176:

Spill operations began on Monday @ 13:00hrs, a flow of between 5000 Cubic Feet per Second (CFS) and 6000CFS was established at the spillway and will be maintained till probably Friday morning (unless Thursday nights rains drive the resevoir up again)
The output at the generators has been pretty steady at around 12000CFS since about the 15th of June.

It took close to 6 hours for the increased flow from the spillway in the old river bed to reach the Powerhouse.

Please stay clear of the spill operations and the Powerhouse. Those who have to worry about working there are, have bigger things on their plates than having to worry about "Looky Lou's".

Operating:
2 generators putting out close to 350MeggaWatts, 2, 18000 HP pumps, a spillway, 22km of canal, a washed out bridge, and 50,000 questions from on lookers and gawkers.
Priceless:angry3:
