Had ann awesome relaxing week on the lake. Caught a lot of pike, at least 100 from the pontoon, all withing a few feet of the shoreline in the weeds, and another 50 or so from the campsite baitfishing. No monsters, no one on the lake caught anything big all week, just a few keeper size. Great weather for the most part, with a few thunderstorms to keep it exciting.

Campsite, 20 feet or so from the water.

used the motor mount I built for the canoe, it put the motor on the outside of the pontoon, and the handle right at my left hand. 100% better and easier to use than the built in motormount on the backrack.

Hi Wayne, I was just trying to convince my wife to try out Medicine Lake next week. I'm curious if you know if a 30' RV will fit in the spots there, and how likely would it that the place is full on a weekday in july?

Thanks in advance!

It's a little north of where 53 tees into 22, straight west of Rimbey, or north of Rocky. Got my Cow Elk draw there this year. :sHa_shakeshout:

Wayne, do you have pics of your mount, if you don't mind, I would like to try and do the same thing myself.

Have you been getting anything of decent size there this year wayne?

WayneChristie

caught about 50 smaller pike from the campsite, and another hundred or so from the pontoon, didnt see anything big at all. do you mean my owl mount?

Hunter Trav

No I meant the fish...lol I gave up on that lake after the winters dismal performance. Nice place to go camping with the kids, but the fishing is meh...

Hey, Wayne...
I'm guessing AbProwler is referring to your motor mount???
BTW, how does your 'toon track when you use the motor? I tried a small electric on mine once; couldn't get that s.o.b. to track straight for love or money! Figured it needed some sorta keel???

WayneChristie

ahhh, motor mount :sHa_sarcasticlol: made it for the canoe, a piece of 2x4 and a piece of 2x8 glued and screwed and marine varnished. it actually fits in the pontoon rack nicely, with a couple c clamps to hold it, and puts the motor on the outside of the pontoon, works great and tracks very well too. a lot easier than trying to reach over your shoulder if you use the pontoon rack mount.
