My garage was broken into last night. I have not completed an inventory of all that was stolen yet, as I had to head to the office.

Among the items that I know they stole, was 90% of my deer meat inventory, a dirt bike, a cordless drill and who knows what else. Insurance will cover me, but the invasion of my home has my blood boiling.

Ranting and raving about how much I hate thieves will do next to nothing. But I will say this:

Please don't buy stolen goods. The act in itself creates a market for stolen property, and is as wrong as stealing the goods yourself.

If you are a thief, in any capacity, and you are reading this... There are disgruntled people out there that have been violated by your acts of cowardice. You might think you are clever, but it will catch up with you. You can't escape your past, and it will follow you around in your mind and remind you that you are the SCUM of the earth. If you get caught stealing, you better hope it is by the police and not by the guy who you are stealing from.

It really sucks.

I have 24/7 video surveillance of my home, because I had a brand new quad stolen from me. $400 got me an okay setup and I haven't looked back. Like you said, insurance covers the financial loss but it doesn't cover the stress and the anger.

I feel for you, I've been there pretty recently.

A man's home is his fortress . . . but it shouldn't have to be a castle.

ABSOLUTELY!

This is HORRIBLE news! I don't know how people can do things like this, these type of people have no conscience, and hopefully deserve whatever they have coming for them! We will figure this out!

I am lucky enough to say that she is my girlfriend.

This happened in the community of Oakridge, in Southwest Calgary.

I spoke with my insurance company, and the dirtbike is not covered under my policy. $1000 dollar deductible will negate the price of the goods stolen. I will just have to eat the cost personally, again. Awesome.

Thank you for all the emails and PM's guys and gals. Your support and words are very much appreciated, as well as all the offers to share your game meat. I feel much better knowing that eventhough I was robbed again, that there are folks like you that are always willing to help out.

I feel for ya.Same thing here only it's someone I no.
I can assume it's someone that comes over alot because big tick items like 5gs 5gs in opits and a gps, laptop, bows camo were not even touched. A sage fly rod two reels two spare spools and a new laser range finder were all that was taken.
The real crappy part is everyone one that stopes buy in my eyes is a suspect and that sucks because I no 99.9 % wouldn't never do. It made me so angry that all the sudden my right hand is broke, go figure.

What a raw deal man! Sorry to hear about your luck. A few years ago my father inlaw had his place broken into. they took select items mostly his guns. Anyways it turned out that it was his nephew that broke in and stole the stuff. I hate to think thats what happened to you but unfortunately people are people. Good luck with getting it returned or paid for by insurance.

You are not alone, I know how you feel
They also don't realize that if they ever need to buy insurance for anything, they can thank themselves and others like them for the high rates, that are only going to get worse

It's to bad we can't defend our property without the fear of a criminal record or worse yet jail time hanging over our head.

So sorry to hear that some D-Bags did that to you. I have been in your shoes and I know how much it sucks. My family is largely into the motocross curcuit. If I hear of a bike for a "too good" of deal I will let you know. I hope these suckers get caught.

TFG - maybe post some specifics on that bike for everyone to watch for?

Sorry to hear about this, makes my blood boil. If there's anything you need, you know what to do.

The dirt bike is a 2008 Honda CRF50F. Yes you can make fun of me. I sold my CR250 and bought the 50 so that I could take it camping and everyone could ride it. Everyone asked to ride the 250 but it had too much jam for casual riders. The 50 was loved by all my friends, as it was a ton of fun!

It has been reported to the police, and if I find the culprits or catch them in the act next time, I will charge them to the fullest extent of the law. I don't care if it costs me $10,000 or $20,000. I will see to it that my lawyer punishes these scum for me and make their lives as miserable as these repeated incidents have made me.

that sucks man, I know its not much conslolation but odds are they wont get caught with your stuff, but they will slip up and get busted by some one that will give them what they deserve. And I will not laugh about the 50, if anyone who has a few friends and they have a few they take camping, or in the back of a jet boat on river trips. They are so much fun to race and even more fun after a few wobbly pops lol. Any how dont feel to bad, these clowns have more problems then just stealing stuff, probably addicted to drugs living in a house with 10 other people, eating noodles for supper. They will get whats coming to them, the longer they go with out getting caught the worse it will catch up to them, karma, and hopefully mother nature will help, she is a cruel mistress

Well, after taking an inventory of what is missing, I have discovered some VERY disturbing evidence.

It was someone I know and trust, or should I say - trusted.

That sucks man, had a break in a few years ago and they cleaned out all the wild meat in my freezer. Just never felt the same living there knowing that someone had invaded your personal space, never lost that feeling until I moved.

Hopefully everything turns out for the best.

I recommend to keep an eye on kijiji, if they want to sell the dirtbike, thats where it may be advertised

also, one more reason why I always, always, lock the connecting door between garage and home and put alarm system on. That way, at least they are confined to the garage (which sucks already), but at least the bastards can't get into your house (without breaking locks and setting alarm off).

Thanks for all the PM's and emails folks. Eventhough I know the person that robbed me is someone that I know and trusted in my home, the support from the great people here more than drowns the one or two unsavory douches that are motivated by malevolence.

This is what makes this board great :sHa_shakeshout:
