Can anyone please help me out with directions to the Ashland Dam Resevoir by Warburg. Ill be coming from Wetaskiwin. Never been there before and plan on going out tomorrow. Also would a pontoon boat be any good there? Is it an open lake or sheltered so the winds not a big issue? Thanks in advance for some guidance.

Ashland Reservoir is a man made lake. It is just abit south west of Warburg. If you head west of Leduc on Hi-way #39 for about 60 Klms. After you get past Warburg just watch for the sign and turn and go south about 5 Klms. I wouldn't think there would be any wind issues with your pontoon boat as it is not huge. I know a few years back there was lots of Rainbow Trout in there and some Perch.
Good Luck.

Is it ice off? Fishing was not bad in the summer. Not sure about this time of the year.

About 12 years ago my son, who was in gr 6 at the time, caught a 13" perch in Ashland dam. The perch were really biting that weekend but not the trout. A lot of real smal perch. BEL
