Jet Boat Races in Whitecourt, July 5th-7th!

If anyone is a speed junkie, there will be some exciting action on the Athabasca this coming weekend! Some of these boats can hit 100mph. The River is running lower than a week ago, but its plenty high enough for these boats! How about a 150 foot roostertail! Pretty cool stuff, only an hour and a half from the west end of Edmonton, camping and hotels available come check it out!

I love watching these races. Amazing speed. Two years ago they had a small chopper carrying a film crew. R22 i think and in the higher classes the boats were outrunning the chopper going downriver!
