Closest place to Edmonton for Brookies and Browns

What would be the best and closet place(s) to Edmonton to fish for these two types of fish? I was thinking of Chickakoo for brookies but I hear this place winterkills and summerkills? Would it still be worth it? Then for browns I was thinkin of Elk Creek? Any good? Other suggestions would be great. Thanks:)

if you go to the go to the north raven and walk up as far as you can the brookies are less spooky and will readly go after bushy drys.

pretty small haha. every other pool usaly holds a good sized brookie or 2.
they love short fat bushy flies.(small Fat Albert) i havent caught any brookie over 1.5lbs though.
