Hey guys just got back from Lake Newell. Unfortunitly I decided to play it safe and not launch my boat. Was there from July 11 to July 16th. There was to many storm warning, so we decided to go the Rolling Hills Reservoir and had some action there.

I think some of the neat things you see is Nature in production. There was lots of activity at Lake Newell as far as birds are concerned. This to me is a part of fishing.

It must of being crazy out there. My brother was talking to a firefighter in Brooks and she told him that they had to go out there and do a rescue.....insane!!!

Yup it gets worse than that unfortunately :( There's a reason people have died out there with some regularity. One of the top lakes on my "better safe than sorry" list!

I think every SAWT tourney this year had water like that at least one of the days.

Newel can be a pretty intimidating and scary lake for sure.

You know I was thinking the same thing. Some one said on this thread that the waves get way bigger than what I showed on this photo. It would be perfect conditions for surf board people.

Those waves are nothing, be at Keho, St. Marys or Travers when momma nature kicks up

Went fishing on Newell today with ChesterField No wind no waves lots of sun lousy day for fishing. I wouldn't hesitate to head out in that if I was planning to fish, it's not ideal by any stretch and it takes some of the fun out of it, but it's not a big deal, you could fish effectively and travel when you needed to. That's a typical day on Last Mountain or Diefenbaker, if you don't/can't fish in conditions like that, you won't do much fishing. Anyone who's fished last mountain, especially the Rowans tournament, can attest to how wild that lake can get. True 6'+ waves. I've never fished Slave, but I hear it can make last mountain look like a dugout when it gets rolling.

Also, to any Newell fisherpeople, can a person have success from shore or not so much? I've never fished there...yet.

21ft on the bottom. Only seen one guy shorefishing off the rocks by the launch in the park

There are a few spots you can fish from shore and have some success. Take a look at a topo map and a back roads map and find the normal structure spots out there that usually hold fish and go from there.

I am going to be out there with a couple buddies all day friday in the boat trying to hunt some eyes like the one HT posted a picture of.

Brooks police are looking for a old man in connection with a Denture robbery. It appears a Large WHITE MAN who smells like a FISH POACHER and has a enormous stash of rubber frogs.Approached a woman at the waffle shop for some extra services after having Breakfast. While the LEWD act was being performed in the motel room the Son of the Fish poacher(chesterfield) was rudely awoken and the sight of what he saw caused him to scream uncontrolably. This set off a chain reaction, the last known where abouts of the Fish Poacher was on the highway running south with the dentures still attached to his ugly stick.

Police had advised all women to be very careful and not approach this man at the 1pm press conference.
Chester field then interupted the police and advised anything warm with even a slight heart beat should be on alert.
Word is the wife of this man has put up a 10 large reward for his dead body.
