I was out last week (Sunday) at Coal lake from about 2:00pm to 5:30pm, fishing for jacks. Not even one bite with 3 rods (kids and I) in the water. Tried spoons, jigs, spinners..ect but no luck. I plan on going again on Saturday morning, so I was wondering what you guys are using. I know I have cought fish there every other time I have gone, mostly on the west side of the lake, fishing from boat.

I may try going to the south side of the lake this time, and fishing around there...suggestions?

EDIT: Just found a few post..seems like it is rather slow there do to winter kill.

Ah well, will go out anyway and try my luck for the second time.

Fished there a couple weeks ago and had decent success. Nothing big but was getting bites using both a heavy jig and a rattling rapala. Was my first time fishing there and what I noticed is to get out of all the weeds at the far north. I was having luck just past where the weeds stop growing in the center of the lake and I was a good ways from shore making sure to stay outside the weeds.

Not sure if you were trolling or not but I recommend it if you weren't.
