From what I've heard there are huge bullies below the falls. Not many cutts though.

Below the falls by the trunk road you will only catch cutthroats, that stretch of river had no fish in it until the cutts were introduced. You have to hike way into the canyon down past the falls known as the Chutes of the Ram before you will find any other species. There you will find bulls and whitefish.

I've caught cutts above the falls all the time. But you have to be stealthy because they are super shy.

a few hundred feet of steep shale is a small price compared to the $500.00 heli ride haha

If you hike in a ways below the falls (an hour or so) there are easier places to get down to the river..

I am looking for info on access below the falls. It the trail / shale slope near the falls or campground? If I was to hike to a better trail down which side of the river should I go on. I have never been there before and I would apreciate some help. Thanks
