Has anyone caught any pike in the pond? The regs say that you can keep any size of pike caught there. I wouldn't mind trying to fly fish for pike.

There is no pike in there.

I have caught a bunch of trout there in past years usually ranging from 8-16 inches although there are some bigger ones there. Last year I went out in august (july it was fine) and the water was disgusting, I have never seen water that full of algae except in sloughs and I have fished in eagle lake around strathmore the water had a film on it and was green. I left in half an hour as it was rather gross fishing in what was like a slough.

Was out there a few weeks ago and trolled with spinners in the evening. My Dad caught 3 rainbows about 8-10 inches long. He was using a small white mepps spinner.

I finally got out to the pond last week. My friends caught only 1 from shore using earthworms. I managed to catch 7 rainbows on my float tube. Most of them were small around 8"-9" which were released. The largest ones I caught was 14" and 13".

I was using Catatonic Leech size 6 with a Prince Nymph size 12. Most of the hits were on the leech pattern.

was there anything rising?

I saw a few risers but couldn't determine exactly the type of insects they hitting on. I think they were either Midges or Caddis flies. I was a full sinking line with the leech pattern and Prince Nymph

Trout pond does get pike into it from the inlet, unless they have somehow fixed it up so minnows can't get in there. They killed it a few years back to get rid of pike in there. I remember seeing a 30" one a kid had caught from shore.

I did detect fish that was holding in around 15' to 18' around weed cover using my fish finder on my float tube. I suspect those were pike as Rainbows usual cruise around the body of the water. I went over those spots multiple times to try to entice them to hit, but nothing.

I've never caught one there, but as has been mentioned, pike are in the regs.
