Got back late last night, after fishing with Alodar, Mike W and Jay (not Geezle).

Conditions were decent, fairly windy and some chop but we were able to tuck into a quiet spot and fish for a few hours.

I have to say that Mike absolutely beat the hell out of us, apparently salmon fishing is a lot like trout fishing, and he knows his stuff. Their catch quantity was 6x what ours was.

I caught a couple nice lake trout, but again nothing legal size so I still do not know what they taste like. Mike took home a nice one, well deserved after the trip and effort they put in.

No luck with Walleye, but I did catch a Geezle keychain pike, which delighted Alodar to no end. :)

Sweet! Sounds like it was a great time out there Ken.

I don't know a lot about lakers, but they can be fairly easy to catch if you can get on top of them. Local knowledge is always an asset!

Sorry to hear about your garden, for what it's worth: you now have an excuse to eat more meat!

Forgot to mention, Alodar made a great save, the top half of my new rod after it got flipped out of the boat, by me.

Best catch of the day!

It was a great day out Ken.....wish we could have had an equally successful day and had some larger fish cooperate.

My right hand is still sore today ....probably never to be the same .....For everyones saftey beware before shaking hands with Ken .....pretty sure he could turn stones to sand with that paw!!!:scared0018:

I was close , but no fishing. I was working in Primrose. If I had my rod and some weiners , coulda caught some nice bears. Saw 6 , including a nice cinnamon. Maybe this is where the fishin treestand might work. :sHa_sarcasticlol:

I did catch something Mike and Jay did not, a seagull. As we were re rigging, the bugger sniped my jumbo anchovy, which if you buy at the gas station in cold lake is about 4.00 each. I am going to carry a shotgun next time, it was tough getting the bait in the water after that.

Paintball gun maybe...:thinking-006:

Well if you plan on going out there again this weekend perhaps we can hook up out on the lake...you've been out there enough times now that you're due for a keeper sized laker! :sHa_shakeshout:

Will be out that way as well for the next two weeks or so, will be mostly fishing the NW side of the lake, but may vent to the s and e parts this time as well...will be cruising inan new glastron, or downrigging off both sides! Anyone feels like saying hi out there, give a wave, and let's get a few fish! :)

My wife and I went out last night and were able to hook up with a little over a dozen in about 2.5hrs. At one point for awhile I couldn't get two rods in at once. All were undersized then the last two ended up being a double header being a 10lb and 15lb. The keepers are in there just have to keep sorting through the small ones.

Nice laker!

I believe you can only keep 2 lakers of any size from pierce, average size there is 3-5 pounds.

Yeah the lakers in Pierce are generally smaller. Maybe since they are smaller they would be better eating
