Hello everyone I am going on a fishing trip with my one buddy For the first week of august. Our final destination will be LOTW Ontario at my uncles cabin but on the drive to Kenora we were wondering if there are any good shore fishing lakes? We will be Leaving from edmonton so any info about spots or lakes that you think would be worthwhile to try would be greatly appreciated thank you in advance.

Well if you interested you could stop in winnipeg and fish the red river in town at the locks you can catch walleye, cats, pike, bass and who know's what else, but the fishing is usually really good.

dont stop, Lake of the woods is where you want to be!, make sure that who your fishing with knows the lake, and hit all the inlets and outlets possible (if your fishin for pickie's)....if you feel like drivin an hour east then hit up lac de mil lac, gorgeous lake!
