NSR Fishing

I am going to be in edmonton on August 6th and 7th. on the 6th i will be going to cabelas but on the 7th i was gonna try fishing from the shore in the walterdale park can anyone tell me if this is a good idea or not? thanks

I've never fished there before, but if you go to goldbar park and head down stream a couple hundred yards to where the water comes out of the plant you should be in the sauger and walleyes.

I've only used pickerel rigs and minnows or worms.
