I saw a lot of people out there today. Who all made it out and what did you hook.

I only got a picture of my first for the day, just a hair over 15".
(Next time I swear I'll make sure my cameras settings are dialed in before trying to take a picture....)

Had 1 shortly after that one who was a crazy jumper... And in the end his jumping became his freedom.

2 other solid hits a little later on in the day but they managed to get away pretty quick. Decent day for me!

See many risers?

In a pool directly in front of me near the end of my day there was a large trout just banging the surface, when he first hit it startled me a little, but by that point he was ignoring my lures... I put the fly rod away a little earlier and wasn't ready to break it back out again.

White/Red/White. It was working quite well out there. Had all my hits the day before on it... I still really suck at fly fishing so I pack my spin setup.

What area were you in?

I was on the South end of Calgary where QE2 crossed over. I started at the bridge and worked my way downstream, on foot of course. Had a hoodie on at all times trying to shield myself from the sun. Figure I'd mention that in case anyone was wondering who the scary guy wandering the banks in a hoodie was.

WC fishes further down the Bow than the city where you are allowed bait...in the city you can't use bait but I am sure you knew that.

Lots off risers for PMD hatch between 7:00 and 8:00 this evening. Caught 2 small (8"ish) browns and missed several. After 8:00, the wind picked up quite a lot. By 8:15, it was so strong that I switched over to streamers. Caught 1 13-14" Rainbow, and missed another, on blue/white Clouser. I know 13-14" isn't big for the Bow, but it's the biggest I've ever caught there, and it was quite fun to fight, in the current. Fish was removed from the water for a few seconds for the photo, and was promptly released.

Water was high and cloudy, with visibility of only about a foot.

I found the water a little murky today too , pretty high in the NW also . Managed a small brown and a decent whitey , lost a couple nice fish I believe were whitefish . All on spinners

I feel like the Bow isn't going to clear up ever at this rate. Drives me crazy, I just want to see where I should be casting for those damn fish!

I know what you mean , it was starting to clear up then more rain and run-off seems like high water will last longer than usual this year on the bow

Not sure if this has been posted but here's the answer to the high dirty bow conditions and it appears it will continue for a while.

I was excited about trying my luck on the Bow until I read that you have to release trout >35 cm....bummer.

sushi, from what i understand, you dont want to eat the fish out of the bow EAST of ghost res. as all the toxin's from the city & towns water systems flow in, and make the fish no good... but they sure do grow huge!

Doesn't bother me one bit to watch these fish swim away after they've come out to play...

As for the water clearing up: Does it really matter? The water is plenty clear enough for the fish to see our flies/lures; that's all that really matters.:)

Thanks for posting that link. I was wondering why the upper bow looked like it had a lot of glacial silt in it.

Transalta stated that there would be no compensation for the guides......that's pathetic and if it were my company, I would take them to court.

I would be furious.

Boy, some pretty gnarly lips on those fish. I wonder how many times they've been caught????

I wish we could pit tag the fish we catch. It would provide so much more data than srd and the academics doing it alone.

We have a designation for master bird banders.

Why not a system for master fish taggers??? And for the amount of $$$ lots of anglers shell out a couple $100 would be peanuts for an army of taggers
