Ice is fine. No rotting of any kind and actually still snow on the lake. Pretty sloppy in around PP but once your out a bit its fine. English bay from what I understand is pretty much in accessible this year. A couple big heaves out that what I hear.

Jigapoolza 03-14-2015 05:47 AM

We drove off at the marina last night just a bit sloppy is that English bay

pikehunter1989 03-14-2015 07:03 AM

No English bay is on the north west corner of the lake

splake0 03-14-2015 11:22 AM

Cold Lake

Just came off the ice. PP launch is a little wet but not to bad. The fish seem to be getting a little more active.

Heard it wasn't too productive today, appeciate any feedback wheather they are bitting or not in the French Bay to Sask. Border area, will fish another Lake if it stays slow..lol

pikeslayer22 03-14-2015 07:53 PM

Borntohuntforcedtowork 03-14-2015 08:28 PM

Just got off the lake at English bay fishing was ok 9 guys caught 20 fish 2 keepers. The ice heave has melted really bad coming off was quite scary 3 trucks last one almost didn't make it across. Won't be going back on there this year. Going to fish marina in the morning.

Jigapoolza 03-14-2015 09:02 PM

Fished just north of French bay today 2of us caught 10 fish nothing bigger than 5lbs

endeavor 03-14-2015 10:26 PM

accessed lake today from PP and try 80 feet , 150 feet

not successed

find some fish from fish finder, but not bite. try white tube , airplane, buck tail ...

still great day , enjoy the time on the lake

tight line 03-14-2015 10:28 PM

Thnx for the updates, going with a different game plan. Pumping up the pontoon and heading West!

boonedocks 03-14-2015 10:35 PM

Cold lake

Two of us fished all day and had 4 hits in total and landed 2, both small. Access at PP was not an issue.

Jigapoolza 03-17-2015 10:55 AM

Finished a 4 day trip yesturday. I think me and my buddy caught a total of 24 fish. The biggest around 10 lbs, so not a really successful trip but still fun. I'm pretty new to fishin lake trout and to Cold lake but I sure enjoy it. We used both the marina and the PP access and the PP was in a lot better shape.

boonedocks 03-17-2015 08:18 PM

Cold lake

Sunday was a bit better for us. We landed 5 fish in 6 hours with one being 73 centimetres long. It was by far the worst laker fishing that the two of us have had ( we only go once a year and are far from experts ) but had awesome weather.

Congrats on your first laker.....you'll know when your hooked on laker fishing
because as soon as you get home ,you will want to
go back the next following weekend !

58thecat 03-26-2015 07:51 AM

Hmmmm

Went out to French Bay for a little fishing yesterday, 3 hours and not even a nibble, others were not catching either around us indicated by the constant movement and drilling of holes. Ice is say two feet thick and no issues getting around.
Now I will ask all of you anglers to take out what you bring to the ice, I brought back McDonald wrappers etc...pigs, there were cig butts, etc I sat there and looked around at the scenery, big lake, nice ski chalet and asked myself why?
I told my son always leave an area better than you found it and ask you to.

Jigapoolza 03-26-2015 08:49 AM

Had a pretty decent day yesterday. Spent the whole day out front of French bay 8 fish 1 over and lost another 6or 7. Already looking forward to next year . Good luck to everyone this summer.

Jeepers, maybe I stink? What species did you catch?

Jigapoolza 03-26-2015 03:37 PM

Lakers we fished from 7am-7pm 126 ft . Tuesday we fished 150ft from 12-7 only caught 2 small lakers so we had some long dry spells also

-JR- 03-26-2015 04:53 PM

Hey 58thecat ,was there a lot of flood water on top.Heading out saturday for last time. Did notice last weekend Lakers did not like the jumbo jig tubes. The smaller Cold lake specials in white did the trick, unfortunately the new CLS. are barbless except the stinker hook did have barbs...Bite was very light ,they would suck the hook in and not shut their mouths. Have to really set the hook when it feels like a nibble.

Mackinaw 03-26-2015 10:58 PM

Looking to get out sat to tue think I will bring quad just in case

Mack

crblair 03-27-2015 08:26 AM
