Same concept as those JP fly cones eh? I've never tried them, but I bet it'd be fun while trolling flies

That's sick! Only problem with that bunny seems to really slick down and not hold its profile even though it really pulses on stripes. When you're fishing and holding a profile is not a problem it works good. I find splaying some reverse tied buck tail really helps a pattern and holding a bigger profile is worth the 10 extra minutes it takes.

Just a few Pike flies for opening day. I hope that the two in the back stay together as one.

All the flies posted are an excellent example of why its called "the art of fly fishing".

This is sort of an odd thing to ask to the men and women that are busy at the vice.

I have a hairdresser neice that saved me a few nice long ponytails from people that got their long hair cut. I always thought human hair would make good sinking flies or streamers.

My questions is: Have any of you fly makers experimented with human hair flies or streamers?

I am willing to donate 3 or 4 ponytails to someone interested in trying tying. Might make some kind of dubbing too, maybe? I'm thinking they could be dyed different colors easily too.

If they are long enough donate them so wigs can be made for cancer patience far better use of the hair.

That was the initial intention but they are just portion of ponytails. 5 or 6 iches long. Not enough to donate to the cause but more than enough for several streamers or flies.

I forget where I first found this fly recipe, and it's original name eludes me. But I call it my 'Disco leech'. and it's dynamite in the early spring for both rainbows & brookies.
Does anyone know it's proper name?

Yes, very odd question since men and women at the vice (sic) would hardly have any time for fly tying. If the're at the vise that's a different story.:sign0161:
