Thats just awesome! What did you hit him with?

300magman 03-20-2012 12:05 AM

100gr core lockt in .25-06

I had a pretty good chuckle when i got up to him...sent the pic to my wife with the subject "I have googley eyes for you"...she didnt see the humor like I did! lol!

Yota 03-20-2012 12:15 PM

Nice. I've been tempted to hit one with my 30-06 back home but never got around to it. Just moved to Alberta a little over a month ago, lookin to get a .223 for some yote hunting.

Nice shot

a season of learning the ropes

First real season of trying to figure out the coyote hunting. Picked up a cheap savage combo in .243 during the holiday season to be my dedicated coyote rig, later to become my boy's first deer rifle. (That's if I don't shoot the barrel out of it first, he's only 3).

The season started off pretty good with this little girl at 200 yds+ on an excursion with Doorguy.Attachment 49520

We soon had things figure out and started stacking them up with good mornings out like this one:
Attachment 49522

As newly self-described "experts" we wanted to encourage all our fellow Peace Country hunters to get out and dust off their own coyote rifles. We organized an event soon to be dubbed the Dirty Dawg Coyote Derby and this was the result:Attachment 49523
I am pretty confident it will become an annual event since everyone had a blast.

We learned a lot about calling coyotes over the season and I had some fun taking some other friends out to introduce them to the sport. Spring has hit the Peace now so I think the fur quality is going to drop off soon. This big boy may well be my season closer:Attachment 49524 He did the classic stop, drop and roll with a single running shot at just over 100yds. What a great way to end the season.

Almost Over!

Redfrog 04-01-2012 11:00 AM

Well boys and girls it's done for another year. I'll get busy doing a count and contacting prize donors. Once I have the prizes confirmed, I'll do a drawing and see who gets the swag. :sHa_shakeshout:

If there are any donors that I don't contact, please let me know.

JonC 04-01-2012 04:36 PM

Damn, I just came across this thread now. Oh well...next time.

JonC 04-01-2012 04:42 PM

Although I'm not eligible to win, I'm still gonna share my first ever badger :)

Check post 370 above.

I'll try to get through it this weekend.

My Grand daughter had surgery today so this will wait.

Hope all went well with your grand daughter's surgery. Speedy recovery.

Geez 300magman!!!

That sort of photo can have a boomerang effect. The anti crowd loves them.

Yeah I know, it's an unfortunate part of hunting, and among hunters it's just part of life, or in this case death. Definitely death.

But I would remind you all that this is a public forum and google has a habit of showing things we post.

Redfrog 04-09-2012 06:13 PM

The antis will howl if all our pictures looked like this. They just want us to stop killing stuff.

OK People , if there are any donors out there who I have not contacted please send me a pm.

I'll give it a day or so for you to contact me. I hope I haven't missed anyone but I apologize if I have .

elkamaholic 04-09-2012 09:11 PM

my pics seem to have been removed...and they weren't even that graphic!

Kale_M 04-09-2012 11:30 PM

I know, its absolute crazyness. I wont bother posting at all anymore on future pred hunts here, I am only back just checking to make sure that my prize donation made it to redfrog, but I cant bother to post pics when they are censored for fear of upsetting the anti's...kinda comes to a point where you are catering to them.

REDFROG - Couldn't have said it better man, they complain because we kill stuff, not cause there is some blood.

Anyway, too bad, it was fun participating in the pred hunts, and a big thanks to Redfrog for all the work he does putting these things together!

elkamaholic 04-10-2012 06:56 AM

Issue resolved

Sounds like I wasn't censored after all, Keg is going to try and re-insert the photos again later. Strange things happen in cyber-land....guess I had my "antis in a knot" for nothing:)

winger7mm 04-10-2012 09:26 AM

:) sure would like some swag ;) hope my minimal entries gives me some luck :) fingers crossed lol. next years will be much more successful lmao

Two things are really weird about that.

1] that you didn't get your prize

2] that you waited a year to say anything.

Send me a pm . What was it that you won?

KegRiver 04-10-2012 10:30 PM

Missing photos

Posted on behalf of elkamaholic, as he had problems linking his photos.

I just hope I got the photos in the right places. I forgot to ask where they ought to go so I fudged it and guessed.

Opps :medium-smiley-035:
