Norm worked at Cabela's South.
In the new year he left Cabela's and is now working for the city (I believe).
Good for him. I hope I can get out fishing with him again this year. Believe me, he can teach you A LOT if he's so inclined.

Good to hear, know him from way back. No clue how those guys at Cabelas survive on minimum wage, couldn't imagine.

Popped in to Reid's Fly Shop today and glad I did. Great place and I felt very comfortable with Reid. I picked up a Loop Q series rod and some fly line. i will be back

Yes, Norm was the bald guy

FlyTheory 04-15-2018 04:28 AM

Was there this week. Reid was a good guy, but the other too weren’t super friendly-I think they were tired. Cool shop and they’re off to a decent start. I think they might need a few more products.
Overall experience 8/10!

I was hoping to purchase fly tying materials on line but so far it doesn't seem like they set up for it?

pipco 04-15-2018 12:09 PM

Popped in the other day.

Well laid out and a decent selection of materials and other fly fishing related stuff.

Didn't really pay attention to what they have for rods and reels as I already have far too many. :)

Very good service.

I'll continue to support them as a local business.

Didn't have time to travel out to the west end from the northeast part of the city so I took a quick (5 minute) trip to cabelas for some tying material i needed. Strangely enough their inventory has greatly increased over past years. I guess new competition will do that to you.:thinking-006:

Dropped some $$ on flies they have a few unique ones, leader material and some fly tying stuff. Not the lowest prices but I'm happy to support a local fly shop.

Also checked out a couple of spey rods and they have some good deals right now. Not in my plans yet....but....you never know.

Norm!

YEAH! Norm was the bald guy! What an absolute champ. I can't even begin to stress that enough! Beer time NORM!

Went in today.

Only thing they did not have I wanted was multicolored florescent tippet line for my euro-nymphing setups.

Young guy working there was very nice and knowledgeable.

I'll be back.
