SCOPE EYE???????? :sign0068: :sign0068: :sEm_oops2: :scared0015: I CAN SEE YOUR GUTS!!!!!:sHa_sarcasticlol:

At least you got the good target.:) MMMMMM! Jerky!.:)

Ok ok! I 've heard how those scope bites are quite painful and embarrassing. Is that true.:) I'm just saying. I don't know for sure:)

OK I'll quit now. You shot a lot more coyotes than I did today, Congrats. I'd bet you shot over the doe.

Anyway the coyote was sneaking across the pasture at 175 yards, put my shooting sticks up and down he went. Punched a hole in the middle of him, and a great big exit hole. No scope eye. I don't know. It might show up in the picture.

Some people "creep" the stock when shooting from the prone. I always mount the scope as far forward as I can still get full view. Helps to avoid scope eye when a person tries akward holds in the field.

painful and embarassing

Ya my wife got a good giggle. Still got a goose egg. I did shoot over her back, and I was pressed for time today as we were having company for dinner and figured i could put the doe down early.Teach me fir rushing. Thanks for the sympathetic ear. Now back to the coyotes.

went out yesterday with a buddy who has never called coytes before. Pretty cold this morning and crazy foggy this morning but once the sun burnt it off it was beautiful out there! Fresh snow onthe ground and tracks everywhere!! Called in 4 today. Only managed 1 though...My shooting was HORRIBLE!!! Got this guy as he came in around a hill downwind of us. 292 yard shot as he was leaving put him down on the spot without a twitch. Loving the 35 gr bergers! Next weekend I am going back up to where we shot 17 in 4 days a couple weeks ago.. Hope to have a few more on the ground! This is the 14 one I have personally killed this year.

Was out deer hunting at my cousins last week when this chicken stealer peeked over a dirt pile. One shot from the 270 WSM and he was having a dirt nap for good.

I put one more away yesterday morning. I was almost to my parking spot when I looked over and spotted 4 of them crusing through a draw. Parked the vehicle and snuck back to see if I could call them in. Just as I was laying down to call, I spotted one ambling away at about 800 yards or so. I started calling just after he disappeared over the horizon, and continued to call for 15 minutes with no luck. I concluded that nothing was interested and headed back to the vehicle. When I was was about 500 yards from where I called from, I looked towards the vehicle and spotted one cruising down the middle of the road in my direction. I was only about 300 yards from the road so I started sprinting towards it when he went into a dip. When he came out of the dip I was ready for him and let him have it from 150 yards.
After I shot, I looked around and noticed one zeroing right in on the spot where I had just been calling from. Serves me right for getting up and leaving after only 15 minutes. The second one ended up giving me the slip and I didn't see a single coyote for the rest of the day, despite racking up 15 kms on my hiking boots.

2 more from mid-day stands...I got off work and out with enough time to do 2 stands before getting into the blind for the evening deer hunt. Got one at each stand...both came in around the five minute mark and were males.

Coyote- Nov 8

I set up the PM-4 & Mo Jo Critter on Tuesday around noon & after nine minutes, this big healthy female showed up four feet outside the woodline @ 72 yds. I wanted to wait to see if she'd walk up to the decoy @ 30 yds so I could shotgun her but I was desperate for a kill. Saw a couple of dozen in Lloyd the week before and after four days on em, I came home empty handed. It felt good to finally close the deal on one.

Have a good one guys… Stay on em

Got a couple more today. Did 7 dry stands before I got the first one of the day to respond. 60 yard shot and she was down! First time I have ever had any type of fur damage with these 35 gr bergers. Frontal shot and there was a definite "hole"...
http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...24442748_n.jpg

Walked a few hundred yards down this small cut in the trees were the first one came from and sat down to call again. 5 mins later this guy showed up and another 60 yard broadside shot with the .204 and he was down!

The 2 together. Hoping to get out a few more times this weekend!

Had a slow morning with Whitetails but spotted this big yotes face looking out of the red willows at about 75 yards. Gave him a couple mouse squeeks and out he came. Had to let my Kimber 84M Montana .260 sing a little song. It was a close shot but I`ll take`m anytime I get`em. Nice big male Haired right up. Im hoping to get a lot more, the coyote numbers`s are way up. Pheasent, deer andd rabbit numbers way down. Go Gettèm everybody!

I think number 7 Graphic pics.

Anyway this little girl was poking out of the trees in the coulee. She was just sitting there and wouldn't move. 277 yards and I love my Savage .270wsm. Those Winchester XP3's are nasty. After I shot her I thought oh crap need picture. Hike down the coulee, take a couple pics and back out, I'm in terrible shape.
This coyote was a mess. no hair on the belly or back legs, tail was a mess. No wonder she was just sitting there.Sorry about the pictures but wanted to show the no fur belly.
Called in another at a second stand but he saw me at the same time I saw him, call that one a draw.
Anyway, enjoy.
Second pic is from my vantage point looking at coyote.Coyote was just below tree line to right of lighter green roundish bush.
First pic is from where the coyote is laying looking at truck. You can just make out the truck.
Then the coyote.
The hairless belly pic will follow.

(#1) Badger!!! (Under 16 Category)

I am not sure if this will count in the contest, I think it would be classified as a "Predator". If it is that is great! We were deer hunting around Oyen, it was just before last light. Decided to check one more area. Saw this moving through the grass, saw it was a badger shot it with one shot and put it right down with my Tikka 7mm-08 with 140 grain supreme silver tips. This is predator #1 for me. If this counts it goes in the under 16 (youth) category.

This second one, we were passing some afternoon time and decided to do a yote stand, it came in to cottontail distress at 4 minutes. Shot it at 45 yds. Both were males.

Most of the yotes I've shot this year have been spot and stalk. The double was off a dead cow in the field. About half of em I shot with the 22-250 with 52gr Hornady Amax. The other half was with the 243 with 58gr vmax. The one with the big hole and the innards blown out was with my 30 Gibbs and 155gr smk.

I'm away from home working right now. When I get home I'll try to get a few more.

Buckstalker 11-17-2011 01:12 PM

Well done guys! Keep 'em comin - I saw 8 yotes in one morning, but resisted the urge to lighten their load as I was deer hunting. Hope to fill the tags this weekend and then unleash the Tikka on the predators! Good Luck to all!
