How is Panther River for archery elk hunting these days?
Is it still full of predators that make it difficult?

Welcome to the board . Being your first post you might get a few guys jumping on you as it almost is asking for there hunting spots . Lol
Might get a better response if you were in the archery forum, a lot of rifle hunters here. And start by introducing your self ,normally gets a better response .

Virtually no elk in the Panther these days, most people blame wolves, better luck hunting the ranch, if you can get a tag. Even the elk population there has been severely reduced.

Never meant to jump on your post. However most Elk hunters rarely give out info on hunting areas.

The fact is that the Panthers once large Elk herds are history.Wolves,Grizz, unregulated hunting and poor management have all been factors.

Unfortunately. Unless you have horses, or know of a hidden honey hole you will be disappointed by the low numbers, its much the same for most eastern slopes zones. The same is also true for mule deer in the zones I hunt.

Good luck and welcome to the forum.

You'd have better luck finding an elk in Inuvik

Hard to believe Clarence Brown once got a record making head out of there. I picked these up on the Panther years ago.

If there is no more elk or mule deer what are the piles of predators eating?

Any thing and everything that's still alive.Once there are no animals left they will move on,or hopefully starve.
