fly tying tool caddy

I got tired of constantly looking for my tools under my zip-lock bags of tying material, so quickly constructed this caddy for my most used tools. It's made of two, stacked, old & stained cork hot-plates from Ikea, with holes drilled through the top one, attached to an old 'lazy susan'. Works like a hot damn!

*also, I tie over a white face cloth. The white makes it easy to see stray materials, and the terry-cloth fabric makes it easy to pick items up, and keep beads from rolling/bouncing astray. It also keeps errant marabou fibres from drifting all over everything. Periodically I clean the cloth with a couple of swipes of my sticky lint-remover spool - both 'shop-cloths' and lint remover spool available at Can Tire for cheap, cheap, cheap.

I really like the terry cloth idea. It's amazing how far those beads will roll when they hit a hard surface!

That's a sweet idea! I took a whitetail shed and banged a bunch of holes into it with my drill and use that. Works great and looks pretty cool on the tying desk
