I hate politics but love guns
Ok so I hate politics......i know I should follow our political system better but my time is better served elsewhere. Besides I normal just get frustrated following.
If you follow this forum your a outdoorsman, marksman and firearm enthusiast. You most likely own multiple firearms of different classifications and have probably invested a lot of time and $ in this sport. You probably participate in match, trap, skeet, IPSC, 3 gun etc.....etc.... being part of a community that enjoys the outdoors and competitive shooting. Here's my questions. With an election coming......what party would you trust with our firearm sports? It seems like a simple question. But I'm afraid it's not. Sorry to bring politics up on a firearm forum. It's been on my mind and need answers. |
Firearms are federal jurisdiction, and one party has done away with the long gun registry, and has introduced a common sense firearms bill. The other party has never relaxed firearms laws, and is promising more firearms regulations, which we should see soon.

Thanks for the input.
I'm not looking forward to any changes. Hopefully we will be able to grandfather any restricted firearms that we currently own. I fear a federal bill of total surrender of all restricted. And to my understanding any firearm can be change from non restricted to restricted at any point should the RCMP decided to do so. I starting to over think this......just really starting to enjoy IPSC and $ invested. |
Liberals = gun control !! Always has always will.

Legislation was upheld by the Supreme Court in Reference re Firearms Act (2000). The FAC system was replaced with possession-only licences (POLs) and possession and acquisition licences (PALs). Referring to Bill C-68, John Dixon, a former advisor to Deputy Minister of Justice John C. Tait, stated that the Firearms Act was part of a policy exercise by the Liberal Party of Canada so as to appear to be "tougher" on guns than Prime Minister Kim Campbell, and thus defeat her in the 1993 election.[14]
Firearm laws have been around since the 1800's But the Lieberals seem to feel it is a great way to win votes...while doing very little to actually change anything... |

Anybody that claims to be a firearms enthusiast/involved in shooting sports community already knows the answer to this no-brainer. |

I think someone is gripping the pickle to tightly. Say what you will.... I simply was looking for insight to make a better decision for myself. Head down working hard to play hard at a sport that I enjoy. Yes I have heard one side opinions but thought it would be wise to ask for more. I thank those that have shared what you know and shed light where to find answers. It's appreciated |

If you’ve been even remotely involved in hunting/shooting sports in Canada over the last 30 years, and you need to ask which Federal party is more likely to further restrict your enjoyment of firearms, then you’ve been living in a cave somewhere.....or under a bridge more likely? |
It really does not matter who you vote for .......
Because once they are in everything changes. You only vote for ....who will be the next millionaire |
