Snare Support Wire

Any leads where a guy might find some snare support wire? Having trouble finding it locally. Also, what wire gauge are you guys using to support 3/32” wolf snares? Thanks in advance.

Where is loxal for you? I buy mine at UFA in large rolls, cheaper than trapping supply stores.

#11 or #9 depending on length. I use surgical tubing as w whammy so size isnt so critical.

X2... just picked up 50lb roll for $50... that is a pile of support wires

For coyotes(not sure if it would be strong enough for wolves) I use #14 wire (from UFA) spun together with an electric drill. Use the end loop to attach the snare, thus eliminating the whammy. Can be made any length, quite flexible for positioning/handling etc. Takes less than a minute to make on.

Dodge go to a fencing store and get a roll of the wire they run along the bottom of chain link fence that's what I use works great. I use plastic tubing " clear vinyl 5/16"from home depo on my snares. and the wire fits perfectly inside that its cheap and dose not change size when you boil your snares.
snares.

Princess auto--plain 9ga wire cut it in half with grinder, fold one sectio in half insert two ends in vise, the other in a drill, twist slowly,---grind a V in a short piece of rebar ,place the 9ga wire loop in the V and drive in the ground, drive snare anchor in ground near by hang the snare, and bobbies your uncle.PS---cut the whole roll of 9ga wire in half the lenghts then are the perfect length for twisting

Dodge try using smaller wire 5/64 or 1/16 with Magnum Kill spring. I think you be like the results. We are using 5/64 with very great results.
