Lets see your hunting camps!!
Hey guys,
There was mention of starting another hunting camp thread....so lets see em!! Whether its a wall tent, a bivy sack, a dome tent, a camper, a trailer, a cabin, etc....lets see them!!! Post some pics and tell us what you've got and anything that makes your camp 'original'.... I'll start with my 'old' camp...I sold this camper and am currently in the 'upgrade' process of going with a nice wall tent setup. It was an old 1970 17' Skipper and made it through some good hunts all across the province.... http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2.../Hinton012.jpg This is Duk Dog and the 'mulie/antelope' camp from last year.... its like staying at the Hilton!! God he looks manly in this pic.....heh... http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...opeHunt011.jpg |
Here's me, Littlebuckgonefishin, and Antler Man (in Antler Man's camper).

Good idea guys.. Some sweet lookin set ups out there fellows keep them comin..
Here is our set up.. My 16x32 milatary tent and the bro inlaws 14x16 used for the guys that want to sit up later and have a couple bevies.. http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...6/IMG_1143.jpg Here is some of the gear.. The 24' covered trailer that we haul most of the gear up in and on the right the nephews 8' tandem axle tub for the game.. What a sweet unit rides like a caddy. And all powered with a 3000 Honda inverter.. http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...nting06010.jpg What makes our camp special I like to think its the stove a cousin of mine and I built from an old 100 gallon tidy tank I had at home.. Cut the front off and re did it with some heavier iron.. She burns 12" 14" wood 3 feet long don't even have to split it, which is good for those long cold nights.. http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...ing06001-1.jpg And of course my kitchen.. 2 camp chef stoves, cuboards that break down and folds up to 4" thick clamps together with bolts and wing nuts... http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...6/IMG_1142.jpg Ahhh camp life,, a little afternoon nap on an old moose shed yup life is good in camp.. http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...nting06011.jpg |

Some of you guys have nice wall tent camps.
Our camp for deer season. I had a late season moose tag just in case a moose would pass by. I did connect on a nice 48" bull. Certainly not the fanciest of camps. The back of my old truck for almost a week a few years back.

That Toyota was more comfortable in late October.....especially with the pub so close!!

The old canvas was from Oct. 2006 our kitchen was made from good old 6mil poly, and the new white tent was the tent my buddy ordered from Davis tent in colorado. used it this past November

So you guys remember how cold November was in 06. We slept in the box of his small gmc sonoma. We cooked in there, one evening he dropped the soup on the sleeping bag, I'll simply say I wasn't impress evening. After two weeks some soup cans were frozen to the canopy, a lot of ice from condensation in OUR CAMP. What an experience. Cool pics guys...keep em rolling!!!
Building my enthusiasm for the nice wall tent purchase this year....I'm thinking for spring hunts and for the hunts I have planned this fall it will be great to have the tent to chill out in.... Man...camp is half the reason I go hunting....something special about any hunt camp and the people you share it with....for some reason though the Havana Club and the Famous Grouse always tastes better in camp than at home!!! |
Well I can't really find any pic of or camp (digitally) we have a 14 x 16 wall tent but have upgraded last season to a 21 foot toy hauler, we still use th tent a a lounge area.
Here is the only pic I could find of camp it just so happened this young bull walked up the cutline to 60 yard from camp and these two hangovers were still there, one being my 71 year old grand father. http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r...p200632032.jpg |

Oh man am I ever getting the itch to get out again.
Only 8 months 3 weeks to go:( . There are some really nice camps so far and a couple really good ideas to improve our camp in the following seasons. |
Bundaberg Lodge
Here are some photos of what we call Bundaberg Lodge. The first one is packing in. This one is the setup. This is our sign that we hang every year. Either over the door or on a tree. I carved the sign using a heated tent peg one year. Here is supper. And this is what happens when you have to much Bundaberg. Eric is on the left and Ken (Griswold on this board) is all too often seen in this position LOL. Great photos guys! Let's see some more. |
I'm having a hard time attaching pictures to this site. Always says the size is too large!:mad3:
Any EASY way to accomplish it? |
Here is a link that should help. Generally it is just a size issue. If you crop your photos to no more than 600 pixels wide at 72 dpi, you shouldn't have a problem.

Camping out of the truck on one solo hunting adventure a few years back
http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a331/tgw/d4e36a67.jpg Even though this tent looks like it was a solo trip, there were two of us packed in this for a sheep hunt: http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a331/tgw/tent.jpg Love the pictures. I'm definitly going to need to buy an outfitter tent in a few years. |
