2012 Elk tag filled!

Wanted to share (because I'm pumped, excited, happy....thank-full!)

Received an awesome spot to look for my Elk this year. Walked in yesterday at 7am and found the elk pretty quick. Glassed the heard, couldn't get any closer because they were all out grazing the field already. The other bulls where on the other side of the heard and this guy was on my side, the other bulls where over 500 yards and my confidence shooting that distance is there so I decided to harvest this one. Shot him at 325 with a 7mm ultra mag. This is only my second elk I have shot, He's an 8x3......would have been an 8x8 but he broke off the one side during the rut I’m assuming.

Nice bull. Cant imagine the amount of torque and power it would have taken to break that beam off.
