NAFA Weirdness

I'm trying to log in and I'm getting other people's accounts. :budo:

Is there a Gregory from DeWinton or Dennis from SK on the forum? I also had a fellas from IA, ND and IN.

jmparker 05-16-2018 04:12 PM

yep me too. i got tony from "russialand"

logged out and back in and i got my info now.

averaged $102 canadian on my yotes. with the coyotes i was catching this season im happy with that.

whiskeywillow 05-16-2018 04:20 PM

I got on mine okay.. In time enough to see my results anyhow. If I'm seeing what I'm seeing, top-lot go $270?? Next best $140's, $120, had a few $114... poorest about $100 for me.

For my first direct-sales-showing (and not selling to buyers) I'm pretty happy. I missed any of those 10 in the top $270-lot but I did have a fair chunk in the next-best $140 & $120 lots.

Did I read correctly (somewhere in the previous Threads during the February sale) that those NAFA numbers are posted in US-funds??

kingrat 05-16-2018 04:36 PM

That was crazy. I logged in about 30 times trying to get someone cool like marty, got a Shawn roe from Alberta and I think some other famous forum member and a pile of guys from the state's. Should've changed everyone's passwords Lol, what a mess up by nafa.

HunterDave 05-16-2018 04:43 PM

It's pretty bad when I have to get my auction results from you, Kingrat. :sHa_sarcasticlol:

kingrat 05-16-2018 04:49 PM

Lol honestly how many thousands of people ship there and I gotta get Dave's account. Man I shoulda changed the password or something.

They were last sale - probably are again. I only had one yote so didn't ship for this sale.

Yes it's always in us funds until after the sale when they convert it.

That's actually pretty decent then. Sure, is down a bit from last sale, but $130 average +/- is nothing to sneeze at. I'm ecstatic my best ones sold for $140US... that's pretty well $180 canadian. I'd take that every day if I could.

Thunder Elk Hunter 05-16-2018 05:41 PM

Not happy when our SEL lot goes for 44 less than the other ones and now our bought back ones are showing up as sold but with no price on them. Hope someone from NAFA can explain this to me better. Too bad that this action house is the best of the 2 on coyotes, might just looking at shipping to the other anyway.

kingrat 05-16-2018 05:48 PM

Ya it was some weird bidding. I had a number 1 go for 144 which was the second highest coyote there the selects went for less. They seemed to want dk and dkbr instead of gc or med.

shakeyleg02 05-16-2018 06:41 PM

My dkbrs went for less than my GC and mediums ..odd sale really ..didn't make out too bad at about 118 can ave tho

Thunder Elk Hunter 05-16-2018 06:54 PM

I just got the goods on my coyote grading. The one lot was heavy and the other was semi heavy so there is the difference in lotting and sale location. I glad another member pointed that out to me. Well I learned something today had to go back and check the lotting order and it states at the top of the page heavy or semi. Way to over look something that important on my part.

Thunder Elk Hunter 05-16-2018 06:58 PM

Ended up with a 30 US less average than the last sale. Sure glad there was 68 coyotes on the last sale and only 36 on this one.

seems to always be that way .. I think a person would be smart to ship and sell all their early coyotes on the first sale and hold over the rest to sell on first sale of following year .. May be in the market for a freezer .

HunterDave 05-16-2018 07:11 PM

NAFA is messing with me. All that I ever catch here are DBR and DK coyotes and after last auction I was excited to see so many graded MED for once. What happens?......Buyers feasted on DBR pelts and not the MED. :angry3:

What happened with the red fox? Did they auction them before the ranched mink? Two of my eight sold somewhere.

Gboe8 05-16-2018 11:30 PM

Well just under 128$ average cnd for me any time coyotes are going for a 100 or more I’m happy.

jeffreys 21234 05-17-2018 08:24 AM

I had non of my foxes sell all buy backs

I would be Gregory from DeWinton. The same weirdness was going on with my account.

Small world, eh? I don't remember anything about your account other than your name and town but I'm willing to bet that you did a lot better than those American fellas. Out of curiosity I looked at one fella's 15 coyotes and he only sold one Semi for next to nothing. I think that we're pretty lucky/spoiled up here.

I agree with this. I read on the American forums where guys were ecstatic-happy they averaged in the $40-range for their coyotes! It's almost unbelievable to see that, I had one frankestien yote in my lot, worst one of the whole bunch that I daddled on junking altogether.. holes & tears enough to make you cry... but, even with the (extreme) amount of sewing I swore through before boarding him, he still brought $47!! That was my one real stinker of a pelt in the whole bunch, so was plain to see which graded as a damaged, but still, I was astonished with $47 for him and not there as a throw-away! I guess it just goes to show how sought after these westerns really-are even-if in tough shape. Shows why the nice ones were up in that $180-relm too.

I hope the market holds for next winter just the same. Definitey good times to be in-it.

What’s the story on Marten?

Had 3 sell of 9 in this auction. At 33$ each??

6 bought back ...

Big Grey Wolf 05-20-2018 10:03 AM

marten

Flight, the best marten heavies only sold 58%, the semi-heavy sold 93%. Your pelts were probably good heavies, and larger sizes, I guess the Asians only wanted to buy the lower quality fur rather than pay good money for the best.
Heavies averaged $72 and Semi $38 US. Top lot XXL went for $320 anybody get that good $US price.

Yeah, I was lucky enough to have one in that lot. I'll take the $320 USD anyday to offset the crappy prices for the rest of mine that sold.

nube 05-20-2018 11:46 PM

Looks like they gave my marten away for pennies this sale. Any marten less than XL didn't bring much at all. Interesting labelled pelts can bring so little.
Also find it interesting a guy can have Semi's when they start trapping mid December as well. What the heck!

Big Grey Wolf 05-21-2018 08:47 AM

marten

Uke, well done great Northern trapper. A guy that can get 3-4 Top lot marten and fisher in last 2 years is doing some great trapping and fur boarding.

Congrats on your top lot marten. Nice chunk of change!
