Sibbald Meadows pond?

Me and the missus are gonna head out to sibbald meadows pond for our first
(ever!) try at ice fishing later this week. How's the ice out there? I've been told that it's a pretty good spot this time of year. Any tips? Right now we're planning on using small jigs with shrimp for bait.

i always thought that was a put and take pond that froze to the bottom with no winter kill because it was fished out by fall

please update how you do...im really interested

for a first trip out i took my missus to chain lakes.
we did not have to walk to far & had lots of action.
not sure of the snow situation on the road to sibbald.
easy access to chain & lots of fish.
a better choice for first trip. imo.

up to you .

Sibbald Meadows Pond doesn't winter kill. It can get fished out but this year I have driven past it a bunch since it iced over and there have been people fishing it. I walked out onto the ice the other day and there was blood near one of the holes. Unless somebody cut themselves on a hook, that is a good sign that there is fish.
