printed regulations
who has found printed regulations? who has them?
I was handed a glossy sheet printed by the govt telling me to go online. I don't do online on my phone and some trips aren't planned, I just head out and think, "... there's some water, think i'll chuck a lure." kinda crappy without paper regs |
I asked at my local Canadian Tire yesterday and they told me they expected them next week.

They will be out eventually just make sure to check new regs until then.
Or break down and print the few pages necessary. |
The regs didn't get approved until much later then usual this year. They were released online because they had to have something in place April 1st but were holding off on approval before printing anything. I don't know what point they are at now but I am guessing the paper copies should be available soon.

terrible layout. whoever designed the regs that way does not fish.

I believe I have figured out the mystery though, I searched default in the regs and believe I found the reference it is trying to point to. If you look on page 54 of the pdf regulations you will see PP1 site specific regulations then find the lakes section part C. It gives default regulations for unlisted PP1 lakes and shows a season of May 8 to Mar 15. I compared it to my 2017 version of the regs and sure enough it used to say open all year. I assume this is the correction they are trying to make and that they just worded it very poorly... |

I phoned and asked about it on April 4th. Told them it's confusing and it doesn't say it was closed for fishing in section C unlisted lakes under PP1. I asked if it was date's for retaining fish..... Answer I Got is its closed for fishing. But she kind of seemed unsure.... as I said last years said open all year.. I had a feeling it was a screw up. You think they would correct the PDF version of the regulations to match the changes. Three days later still not up to date. Crazy Now to try and make up for 16 Lost days not being on the ice. Blood pressure is high now. Thanks for the post of the current changes. Time to check the ice |
I called the gov. this morning. They should be out the week of the 23rd. of April. I was told that to cross reference with the website as to info cause the printer regs have errors in them. So double check with the website and write in any correct info into the printed regs. That was of this morning April 17th.

Make sure to check the online reg corrections above and make those corrections in paper copy. |
Printed regs
Well I picked up the 2018 regs at C Tire on the weekend.
I noticed that Ashland Dam is not listed anywhere. It used to be listed under Watershed unit PP2 but nowhere to found in this guide. The online regs show it now listed under stocked water bodies in PP2. So the question is...is there a list of all the errors in the printed copy compared to the online version.? Or do we have to sort it out ourselves. I know I know just use the online regs but I do prefer the printed copy when I’m out and about. |
