Favorite Trout?

Just want to know what everyones top choice for trout is? For me it is hard to decide between cutties and browns but I think I give the edge to cutts. Everyone has thier favs. Let me know what you think.

fishstick 06-17-2009 07:48 PM

I like cutts and Brookies.

AlbertaOutdoorsmen19 06-17-2009 07:49 PM

Cutty's and big bad lakers :D

tatonkagp 06-17-2009 08:32 PM

I love really big bows, like 6 lbs plus great fight and awesome fish. But I do want to catch a golden or palimino trout

Cal 06-17-2009 08:36 PM

Cuts, just for the wild places that you find them. Anytime I'm catching, or even just fishing for cuts its a great day.

Tiger trout for me they have to be the most aggresive of all trout they will slam a fly 10 feet from your tube and scare the crab out of u.......they are like the pike of the trout family..............lol

Wow! Tough question...it's like being asked to pick a favorite out of your kids, when they're all great in their own way.
Brook trout- wins the beauty contest, no contest!
Rainbow- best fighting, most acrobatic.
Brown trout- combo pack; sometimes gorgeous, sometimes gigantic, sometimes pulls like a freight train, sometimes jumps like a rainbow.
Cutthroat- pretty trout, found in prettier places.
Bull trout- something to be said for a trout that will try to eat a cutty as you are landing it. Love the chance to catch a BIG fish in a small creek!

Those are the ones I most frequently fish for, & I love 'em all!
Later,
Steve:wave:

Rainbow, Cutthroat, Brook, Brown - all look like they were designed by Italian race car designers - built for speed and beauty.
Even Bull and Lakers have their own 'muscle car' appeal.

But if I was offered a trip of a lifetime for one trout, it would have to be the Golden -to fish in the spectacular places they hang out.

Rainbows are my fav for no other reason than they stock them and I can catch them! :D

marlin1 06-18-2009 10:45 AM

nothing like a tail walking 5 pound class rainbow , I have seen some spectacular acrobatics over the years . my favs hands down

Scott N 06-18-2009 10:59 AM

I'd have to say rainbows for the fight they put up, but brookies and cutties when they are in their spawning colors are very pretty fish.

Rainbows because the fight is entertaining!

lucky_magic_stick 06-18-2009 12:18 PM

Cutties all day long!! Since I was about 6 my family would go camping and i loved the fights of the cutties in the river. Always made them seem biggerr tho :P Last year when i was 15 i got my own fly rod and I caught my first cuttie off of the top, best thrill i have ever had landing it :) a good 12-14 incher off the top is great :)

PoorTurtle 06-18-2009 12:50 PM

My favorite is Goldens!!

Trout tracker 06-18-2009 04:08 PM

Anyone of them that will grab ahold of my hook.

BlueNorther 06-18-2009 04:34 PM

I like em all but bows and cutts top my list. I like the aerial battles the bows put up. A few days ago I caught a bow that jumped no less than 7 times, clearing the water by 2 feet every time. It wasn't a monster but at 15 inches it gave me everything it had.

Cutties, as said before, it's where you find them and that they take a fly readily.

Mr.goldeye 06-18-2009 05:05 PM

For me it has to be brookies, their beautiful and are found in beautiful places.Their the second most aggersive trout besides Bulls.

Big Lakers... hands down. Not uncommon to have 10 to 30+ fish days averaging 8 to 16 pounds. Trout over 20lbs are a good possibillity, and the brute strenght of fish that size are awsome. Besides a nice Laker done right on the BBQ is the best eating IMO...

Unregistered user 06-18-2009 09:04 PM

Brookies, and don't squawk cuz they're Char..

lipripper 06-18-2009 09:12 PM

Bulls and Cutts...Although all others are a very close second.

Findal 06-18-2009 09:16 PM

:)

brook trout 06-18-2009 10:53 PM

tiger trout crossbreed.

Dark Wing 06-19-2009 03:32 AM

you just have to love the fight of a healthy rainbow. I've seen a few rods lost to hard hitting strikes, and guys get snapped off if the drag wasn't set properly.

Castaholic 06-19-2009 08:18 AM

Browns, Rainbows and Cutts have my vote

lyons6 06-19-2009 12:13 PM
