cottage packages

I'm looking to build a cottage at a lake lot. Looking for something that is loft-style, with roughly 750 sq. ft of total floor area, suitable for use on a skid or post and beam foundation, and preferably available as either a kit or somewhat pre-assembled. I've found a couple of sources for cottage kits, but none yet that are ideal. I'd like to hear from others who've gone down this road themselves, and who might have advice and some suggestions about what to buy and who from.

my 'financial planner' and I like these styles, there is a lindal sample house in edmonton on the yellowhead.
we went to the lindal show home in saskatoon is exactly what you are describing.
very economical to build.

Here are a few links I've been looking at.

Someday soon I'll have to rebuild my cabin. I'm thinking of just buying a large garage package with 16' walls for a loft.

Thanks for that. I'd not heard of a couple of those builders. One manufacturer that I just noticed yesterday is Timber Block. Interesting design concept, with stacked log walls using composite materials (wood & rigid foam). I'm going to find out more. Any time I see adjectives like "innovative" and "revolutionary" I expect "expensive" is next, so we'll see.

I've used Bavarian Cottages for 3 small structures - a pump house, a motorcycle shed, and a bunkie. My bunkie is shown as 'The Moyie' on their web-page photos - at the link in Nomad's post.

PM me if you have any specific questions on them.

Ruagtika,
Ya, I was all over the Norpine kit at Home Depot last week once I found out about the sale, but ran into a hurdle getting a permit from the County of Parkland. The Caledonia model (the one displayed on their lot) came in at 708 sq. ft. total floor area, and the minimum allowable is 753. We could add a rear mudroom to make the minimum, but that would have required revised drawings and there wasn't enough time to get that done the day before the sale ended. Still an decent option, but I'm checking out other packages now that the rush is past.

The newer development bylaws are kinda frustrating when one see all the old shacks around that were built 30 years ago and "grandfathered in" as the rules changed.
