Calgary fly tyers
 

Is there any fly tyers in Calgary who sell their flies?
I would be very interested...as I do not tie them.

I admit I used his flies in the fly exchange a couple years ago.
I don't tie, no interest in learning to tie, but wanted to take part in the exchange.

Generally its 12 guys, 12 flies.

I dont get it.

Fly exchange.

One guys organizes it.
You get 12 guys to each make 12 flies.

They all send the flies along with a S.A.S.E.
Once you have collected all the flies from the 12 guys, you then put 1 of each fly into the envelopes. So in the end each participant gets 12 flies and send them back their S.A.S.E.

You end up with some pretty cool flies.

That is so cool.
Is this something you have done or would be interested in doing?

The best man to talk to in this regard is KenA07vette. He can guide you thru the process the best - he organized one I participated in.

I am not going to participate, but think you should try it once.

Don't think I have any I'd be willing to swap.
I'm pretty attached to my collection and don't aquire what I don't want.
But I will swap cash for flies haha

I have never tried that.

Fly swap = fly exchange, but 'fly swap' is more commonly used.
