A little experiment.

Tried a little experiment this week. I made a trail through a half mile of bush with my snowshoes, and set 10 snares along the way. Put a little skunk essence along the way as I went. Checked it this morning, and ended up getting 3 fox out of the deal. Never done that before, but will again next year.

Nice. I think next year I will doing something similar and for the first time using skunk essence.

Any coyotes in the area?

I am noticing foxes aren't as cagey as coyotes. I found a fox den and I drive by it and stop and walk around every week within 20 feet of the enterence. I walk acros and up the 2-3 trails going to the den and they are still in the den. They are still using the same trails.

I used to use my quad or sled to make trails......they will readily follow them.

I got 4 fox in my last check of the year. They really started to move well last week. I think If I remember I mentioned something a few times about skunk essence earlier on in the year lol Glad it paid off. Got any pics

A little experiment

I wish I could do pics, but don't know how. I mixed some skunk essence with some Vaseline, and smeared a bit on a tree every couple hundred yards along the trail. It seemed to work OK.
