Last time I fished Phyllis lake, the wife and I sat in a little boat, near the middle, with trout jumping all around us. Finally dawned on us, the cloud of mosquitoes we attracted, was bringing the fish as well. :D Raven river is easily accessible, but I'm betting all the streams are really high right now. Beaver Lake, near Burntstick

Just got back from a long weekend at Phyllis and Beaver. I would say shore fishing at Phyllis or Twin would be good for kids. Phyllis has tons of little recently stocked eager fish and lots of shoreline. The little ones pretty much take anything, I was fly fishing and any black nymph or small dry worked.

Much more picky at Beaver but are bigger. More limiting for shore fishing though.

How many people were there when you were there? Just curious, it seems to be very busy every time I go.

Beaver can be nuts on a nice sunny day around 10:00, thats why I get there around 6!!!!
Last time there, 6 fish landed all in the 2-2 1/2 lbs range on an egg suckung leach sinking line ( catch and release before I get flamed ). Best bet for the kids though is Twin Lakes and Phillis as they are both easily fished from shore... Elk creek fish pond has been stocked and Harlich pond west of Rocky.

strubal lake for 100+ rainbows in a day(4-6incher). small bows(12-14) with a few meduim sized trout and a handful of large trout.
