Beaver Mines lake
 
Just wondering if anybody has ice fished beaver mines.

Yeah...definetly not hundreds upon hundreds of 10'' trout. :D
If your the kind of guy that wants big fish go elsewhere, otherwise get there early and use any sort of small lure or simply corn on a #10 or 12 bait hook. Fish at the first part of the lake you drive by and you'll be good. Road can get very sketchy and the lake is very windy. Elevation of lake (see pic, only hour hike from shore) makes the weather unpredictable and chances of getting stuck on the road with 2wd can be high. Good luck if you go, i want to go up there Thursday. I was looking for our pics from last year, 5 of us went up and caught around 200 trout, kept 25 with various injuries (gills or eyes). None over 12'' last winter. Great for youngsters!

I would skip beaver Mines and hit payne. Use a jig head tipped with some pink powerbait. Hasnt let me down and alot more big fish (12-14") than beaver mines.

Oh, and remember No black put it back on Beaver Mines. Theres a small population of large bulls which show up occasionally.
