Advices for first time fishing in Cypress Hills SASK-side

Hello,

Never been camping or fishing on the Saskatchewan side of the Cypress hills.

I have a canoe, but not sure if I'll bring it. Any good shore fishing in that location?
Pike fishing is my preference....Any tips or comments?

Thanks!

Head to cypress lake about 20 mins south of the park on hwy 21. Lots of walleye, big pike, and the occasional big trout. You won't find any pike in the park. I believe there is trout in the little lake at the park there. Haven't fished it in years though.

Little lake in the park is quite weedy too, but there are some trout there.

Cypress Lake is good from shore for dozens of small Walleyes.

Stream/river fishing is better than lake fishing in that part of the country.

My Dad has been fishing Cypress for many years and pulled a 10lber pike out today amongst many walleye. Gotta love Saskatchewan.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...faad2ac664.jpg
